Let me begin by saying how grateful I am for the ongoing support you show for your beloved alma mater, North Catholic High School. During the past few months I have had the opportunity to meet a number of alumni who were very welcoming to me and eager to continue the storied traditions of North Catholic High School. I say to you what I have said to them – “No endeavor is successful if it is not built on a solid foundation.” You are that foundation. It is your successful academic, spiritual, athletic, and other extracurricular accomplishments that will always bear witness to the years on Troy Hill. I am committed to carrying that success forward for many years to come.
Last August we welcomed over 360 students as the 2015-16 school year began. The halls were filled with scarlet and gold as the students hustled to and from their classes. I was very glad to see the joy and hear the laughter of these young men and women because it demonstrated that the family spirit (which is such an important part of our Marianist Charism) is alive and well at CWNC. The past few years have brought on quite a few changes, but in our hearts we remain “Forever True” to our traditions.
It is my hope that these traditions are passed on for years to come and that the opportunity to receive a Catholic education is not only for those whose parents can afford it, but for all who are willing to work hard and make the most of the opportunity. Your contribution to the Annual Fund can create that opportunity for some young man or woman who otherwise might not have it. By giving to the Annual Fund you are investing in a person – a person who (by hard work and the grace of God) will make a difference in the world and one day pass on their own memories of their days at North.
We are asking you to help keep the NC spirit alive by donating whatever amount you can afford. You can donate online by CLICKING HERE. You can also contact our Director of Alumni & Development, Ms. Amber Nicotra (‘94), with any questions at 412-321-4823 x 117 or at email@example.com.
Our doors are always open, so if you are ever in the neighborhood please stop in for a tour. Although the building has changed, I’m sure you will find features from Troy Hill that will bring you right back to your own glory days. Please join us in our efforts to ensure that same great education and spiritual formation for years to come.
In closing, I would like to share one of the best moments I have had since becoming principal of Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High School. At our first pep rally of the year I experienced first-hand the passion and pride of our student body as I led them in the traditional battle cry, “WE ARE… NC!”
Thanks again for all that you do. May God bless you and your family.
